Nitin Gadkari Unveils ICTRD Secretariat Building and Incubation Centre in Nagpur

On July 5, 2025, Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari inaugurated the Indian Council for Technical Research and Development (ICTRD) Secretariat and Startup Incubation Centre at Adarsh Nagar Ground, Trimurti Nagar, Nagpur. The new facility is aimed at accelerating regional progress through grassroots innovation, skill-based education, and startup incubation.

The event began with a guided tour of the new premises, followed by a traditional lamp lighting ceremony and the digital launch of ICTRD’s technology platform—symbolizing a new era in Vidarbha’s journey toward self-reliance and technological advancement.

Leadership Behind the Vision: Dr. Ketan Mohitkar

Dr. Ketan Mohitkar, Member Secretary of ICTRD, played a key role in conceptualizing and realizing the new centre. With extensive experience in innovation, technology, and public service, he has shaped ICTRD into a platform that fosters entrepreneurship, empowers young minds, and supports research-oriented development across Maharashtra. During his address, Dr. Mohitkar thanked all dignitaries and expressed special gratitude to Nitin Gadkari for his unwavering support.

Nitin Gadkari on Job Creation and Startup Growth

In his keynote speech, Gadkari emphasized the transformation of India’s youth from job seekers into job creators. He commended ICTRD’s practical initiatives such as electric tractors, drone-assisted agriculture, and the commercialization of organic produce as models of innovation-driven growth. He also announced upcoming projects, including a proposed Global University for Logistics and Skill Development in Butibori, and strategies to boost the orange economy, reinforcing Vidarbha’s potential as a sustainable development hub.
